Rana Zincir Celal, Vice-President, Programs

Rana Zincir Celal is Vice-President of Programs at the Chrest Foundation. Ms. Celal is based in Turkey and northern Cyprus, from where she has coordinated several initiatives in the areas of arts and culture, peace building, civil society, and philanthropy.

In recent years she has advised the Third Sector Foundation of Turkey on a philanthropic research project, as well as Anadolu Kültür on initiatives regarding cultural policy and artistic cooperation between Turkey and the Caucasus. Ms. Celal also initiated the international arts event, Leaps of Faith, which took place in Cyprus in May 2005, within the UN-patrolled Buffer Zone and on both sides of the divided city of Nicosia. She is currently a member of the Greek Turkish Forum and on the Board of Directors of the Domini Foundation in New York, New York USA, which mobilizes resources from financial markets in support of global development.

Prior to her work in Turkey, Ms. Celal was employed in the Economic Development Program of the Ford Foundation in New York, New York USA. She obtained her Masters of Science in Development Studies, London School of Economics, London, England; and Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Economics, Columbia University, New York, New York USA.
